2 Samuel 23:1-4 "Now these are the last words of David: The oracle of David, the son of Jesse, the oracle of the man who was raised on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, the sweet psalmist of Israel: 'The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me, his word is upon my tongue. The God of Israel has spoken, the Rock of Israel has said to me: When one rules justly over men, ruling in the fear of God, he dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth upon a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth.'"

I like the framing of "The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me", not through me, or for me, but by me. It shows how God allows us to be us, but if we've given ourselves to Him, "us being us" also reveals Him.

We are each a precious creation made in God's image, He is in us. When we surrender to Him and walk with Him, His love and words and ways are shown and done by our love and words and ways. David reinforces this when he says "When one rules justly over men, ruling in the fear of God, he dawns on them like the morning light". David, having been a just king who ruled in the fear of God, gave God's light to his people.

Although we are not rulers of men, the Spirit of the Lord will speak by us, and we will spread God's light, when we act rightly, treat others justly, and live in the fear of God. By doing so, we are conforming ourselves to what He meant us to be, His images, and as such we can't help but share His words and light.
