Psalm 101:1. "I will sing of loyalty and justice; to thee, O Lord, I will sing."

Over the last several years I have often been blindsided by betrayals of loyalty and justice. I feel like I was so naive - I really thought most people were, or were at least striving to be, loyal and just. But that assumption has been turned on its head, in a very painful way. When I felt this betrayal personally, and suffered the terrible pain and loss that came with it, I came to realize that only God is perfectly loyal and just. Human beings may try to be (I still believe that they want to be), but fear and lies can turn them so suddenly, it is astounding!

God, though, is Truth, and it is His plan that is playing out, so we know we can trust it. He knows all, sees all, and is motivated only by love for all of us. I have come so much closer to Him because of all of this, and I know now that I can trust Him completely. He will always be loyal and just, even when everyone else in the world seems to fall away and there is no one else upon whom I can rely.
