Luke 7:6-7 "And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, 'Lord do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; therefore I did not presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed.'"

None of us are worthy to have Jesus come under our roof, we all rely on His Word and sacrifice to make us so. Jesus knows this, of course, but loves us enough to do everything and anything to help bring us further into communion with Him. That is why He goes with the men the centurion has sent to Him. He did not have to, He could have healed the servant from a distance immediately. But He humbly went with them towards the centurion's house, showing His willingness to do whatever we ask of Him if it will help us become closer to Him.

Had the centurion not professed his faith so beautifully, sending people to tell Jesus he was not worthy to have Jesus come into his house, Jesus assuredly would have gone to the house to cure the servant, because that would have brought the centurion and others greater faith. But the centurion's faith was already so great that he knew Jesus did not have to come to his home to heal the servant, and he knew he was unworthy to receive Jesus. Thus, with Jesus already humbly on His way, the centurion gave Him the opportunity to show the power of true faith, and His true power.

Anything is possible with God, anytime, anywhere. He does not have to be seen to exercise His power, but He will come to us however we need Him to if it will help increase our faith.
