Ezra 7:25 "And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God which is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges who may judge all the people in the province Beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God; and those who do not know them, you shall teach."
When people are judged according to the laws of God, they come to know the laws of God, even if they have forgotten or strayed from them. It would be so much better for us today if we had magistrates, judges, and leaders who know the laws of God, who is no longer just "our God", but the God of all through the salvation won by Jesus Christ. Much of the world does not want to acknowledge this, but God is their God, too, and His laws apply to them, even if they don't know them or have rejected them.
God's laws are written in our hearts and minds (Hebrews 10:16). Unfortunately, the devil has been hard at work undermining God's law so that now even many of the faithful no longer recognize His law as truth, and have often have come to believe the opposite of truth is truth. That is why we are in the state we are in: people's hearts and minds are rebelling against the lies they have been conditioned to believe are true, laws they are often punished for not believing, or at least professing. They are violating God's laws by following what society tells them is good law, and are suffering for it, but they don't understand why. Many of our judges, magistrates, and other lawmakers are imposing this bad law, often with great hubris, causing harm to themselves and to the people.
God will eventually bring all nations and peoples to Himself, but right now, as we find ourselves with judges and leaders who do not know God's law, we must still abide by it. We know God's law, we know which things are right and which are wrong, even if our judges and leaders tell us the wrong things are right. It is by living according to what we know to be true, even if punished for it, that the world will come to see the truth. That is one way we can teach others, and help God bring about His kingdom, ruled by nothing but His goodness, rather than the corrupt laws of men.
