Ecclesiastes 1:2 "Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity."

 

These are the words of one who has had the realization that yesterday's post discussed. When we see worldly things from a Divine point of view we realize how they are just all vanities. Any worldly attachments we have are vanities; all of our efforts at self-improvement in worldly things are vanities; wealth, power, honor, all are vanities. None of them matter in the Divine plan, they only matter when we compare ourselves with others, which is also a vanity. We may give an exasperated exclamation like the Preacher when we realize this, but it is a necessary step on the path to wisdom.
