Jeremiah 48:29-30 "We have heard of the pride of Moab - he is very proud - of his loftiness, his pride, and his arrogance, and the haughtiness of his heart. I know his insolence, says the Lord; his boasts are false, his deeds are false."

 

It stands out to me when God refers to Himself in the plural as "We" (He does this a lot in The Book of Heaven). Here, He switches back and forth, "We have heard", "I know his insolence". It gives us a window into the reality of the Trinity. I cannot begin to fathom it, but clearly God sees Himself as a singular and as a plural; as One, and as Three.

 

The fact that He is Three as One is so meaningful. He is a family; He is a lover, the beloved, and the love they share. He is so much more than a singular being creating the universe just for Himself, He creates out of love. The love of the Father for the Son and of the Son for the Father is a person, the Holy Spirit.

 

It is tremendous that these Three Persons are all One God. It makes Him all the more relatable because we can understand this love. We love our spouses, our children, and others with the kind of love that God has for us. We therefore relate to Him more when we understand that He is a "we", a "We" who loves.
