Psalm 74:9-17. We do not see our signs, there is no longer any prophet. So we are wondering - how long? How long will God allow his enemies to scoff and revile his name? Will he allow them to do this forever? Why does he hold back his power? But our God is from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth. We have seen him divide the sea and "break the heads of dragons" on the waters. He crushed the heads of Leviathan and gave his carcass as food to creatures of the wilderness. He opens new springs and dries up old ones; he has established the sun and the stars; his is the day and the night, the summer and the winter.

This, again, echoes my thoughts - How long oh Lord?! This period of suffering is so very painful and so many of your children are suffering terribly. Why do you allow all of the wickedness to continue for so long? But we must remember that all of creation is his and he works in ways we do not understand. When the time is right, he will act, and we will again see the Leviathan defeated.

I think he is waiting because of our lack of faith and our wickedness. Right now too many "do not see our signs" - too many are still thinking that this is all okay, or we just need to keep doing more of what we have been doing. It won't be until we all realize that what we have been doing is wrong, wicked, and is the source of our pain and suffering that he will act.

Jesus told us to look at the signs of our times. Too many still have their blinders on and are refusing to see the signs. I think God is waiting to act because we need to all see the signs. Then, when he acts, we will know it is him and we will all be grateful for his intervention and salvation. But I must say, I seriously am having a very hard time with the waiting, Lord!
