Acts 3:17-26. Peter continues to speaking to those gathered to see the healed lame man. After reminding them that they killed Jesus, who was the promised Savior, he says he knows they and their leaders acted out of ignorance, and that Jesus' death and suffering fulfilled the words of the prophets. But now the people must repent so their sins can be forgiven and "times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." Jesus will eventually be sent again, until then heaven has received Him "until the time for establishing all that God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old." Peter then goes on to remind them that Moses told the people that God would raise up a prophet from their brethren to whom they must listen, and every soul that does not listen will be destroyed. And all the other prophets also proclaimed the day of this prophet. God told Abraham that through his family all the families of earth would be blessed. Having now raised up His Savior, God sent Him to the Jews first, to bless them and turn them all from their wickedness.

As I've said before, God always keeps His promises! He promised the Savior at the time of the Fall. He promised Him again to Abraham and to Moses, and the Savior came at the time of Peter and those to whom he is speaking. Peter alludes to Christ coming again - to the "times of refreshing". That is a promise that will also be kept, and for which we are all waiting!
