Psalm 44:1-3. Our fathers told us how God did great deeds for them in the days of old. He drove out nations and afflicted peoples to free His people and give them their nation. Not by their own power were they victorious, but by God's right hand and arm, and by the light of His countenance, for He takes delight in His people.
God has all the power and He will save His people, we only must be patient and trust in Him and His perfect timing. It is when we are in our lowliest state that He comes to us and saves us with mighty victory. We cannot save ourselves, our freedom and our peace will never come solely from our own arms. In fact, I am starting to think we should rarely take up arms, we should, instead, wait for God to act. He often takes longer than we would like, but the reward is much greater. He knows when the time is right, and when the victory will be perfect!
