Acts 2:5-13. There were Jews from "every nation under heaven" in Jerusalem at that time and, having heard the noise (the mighty wind pf Pentecost), they gathered to see what was happening. They were amazed and perplexed that they all heard the apostles speak of the mighty works of God in their own native tongues. They knew that all of these men were Galileans, and yet they heard them in many different languages. They asked each other what this could possibly mean, but others said that the apostles must be "filled with new wine."

No matter how amazing God's miracle is, someone will always put forth some possible rational explanation. I really believe that this is the devil at work - God opens our eyes and hearts in the most amazing ways, and then the devil immediately tries to close them by offering a down to earth explanation, often one that is a lie, and often one that makes the believers look stupid or crazy (the devil loves making God's believers look stupid and crazy!).

The devil does this with his own works, as well. He gets us to do the most evil things, and then plants in our heads condescending, rational explanations, which are often lies, for us to use against anyone who questions us. We see this happening everywhere now. Anthony Fauci, Joe Biden, the congressional impeachment mannagers who falsified evidence, the examples of people who are lying right to our face go on and on. Often they don't even seem to realize that they're lying, it's astounding, like they're brainwashed or possessed!

To me, this is very clearly the influence of the devil. It is unbelievable to me how anyone can look at what's happening in the world right now and not realize that something supernatural is going on. For example, there was a virus that very likely, in fact probably, was created and funded by humans; released from a lab, whether intentionally or not; and which changed the course of history and affected every person on earth, yet no one is allowed to talk about its actual origins. We were told that it was naturally occurring and that to question that was either being racist, a conspiracy theorist, and/or a dangerous peddler of misinformation, and made one worthy of losing one's career or worse. This didn't just happen with the virus, it is happening with many things: vaccines, Hunter Biden's laptop, election anomalies, the justifications for abortion, drag queen children's shows, the list goes on and on. The most obvious lies and evils are being paraded right in front of our faces, even forced into our bodies, and yet so many seem happily willing to believe the lies, to the point of attacking or disowning our fellow citizens, even family members, who point out the truth or even just question the lies!

This is exactly how the devil works. We see it all the time, and we see it here at the first Pentecost. All these Jews heard a mighty wind, they heard something that gathered them in this place, and once they got there they found men who they knew to be from Galilee all speaking different languages, so that each person who came could understand them. Many were amazed, and clearly many were going to be converted that day, so immediately the devil put in the mouths of others that the apostles must be drunk. (How does that explain the sound that drew these people there? Doesn't matter, you conspiracy theorist!)

The lesson for us is to believe our own eyes and ears, as informed by our faith. We must use our brains, we must think critically, and we must believe in God and His mighty works, because nothing is more real than God. If you see a miracle, or evil; if you know something is a lie, even if everyone else is trying to force you to believe it, call it what it is, and act accordingly. Do not let the devil keep you asleep with lies, your soul is at risk!
