Acts 13:41 "Behold, you scoffers, and wonder, and perish; for I do a deed in your days, a deed you will never believe, if one declares it to you."

Paul is preaching in Perga, and reminding the Jews in the synagogue there of the prophets' warning that God does amazing things, worthy of wonder, and that those who refuse to believe will suffer for missing them.

While there are definite times of "big things" happening (and I believe we are in one of them right now), God is also always at work in each of our lives, doing things to bring us to salvation and bring His plan to fruition. The obvious big things concern humanity at large, the daily things concern us individually, and others in our lives, but both are equally important not to miss.

In fact, things we think of as small or just affecting us are really part of something bigger. A whole is made up of many parts, the struggles, tasks, and joys we experience on a daily basis are parts of the whole of God's plan. If we just look at everything like that, losing ourselves in seeing God at work even in the most mundane of tasks or difficult of situations, we will be filled with the sense of wonder of which Paul speaks.

God is doing a deed in our day, everything we encounter is part of it, and He doesn't do insignificant things. So rather than think that your "ordinary day" is meaningless, and scoff at the idea it could be affecting the world, think of God at work in each moment of it. Remember that there are no ordinary days, every moment God is doing something.
