Ezekiel 45:1. God tells Ezekiel "When you allot the land as a possession, you shall set aside a holy district, twenty-five thousand cubits long and twenty cubits broad; It shall be holy throughout its whole extent."

God made the entire earth, but He gives it to us as stewards. All He asks is that we keep some small part of it holy and dedicated to Him. This is true not just for the land, but for everything - we have the whole week, but He asks for Sunday to be kept holy; we have the whole year - but He asks for the Holy Days and Seasons to be kept holy; we have our bodies and our lives - but He asks us to refrain from certain activities to keep them holy.

Everything belongs to Him, but He gives us dominion over all creation, and He gives us such freedom, how can we possibly balk at the small things He asks us to dedicate to Him? And yet, so often we do!
