Ezekiel 22:26 "Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things; they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and they have disregarded my sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them."

 

I see some priests in my day who fit this description. They have let common things seep into their preaching, making no distinction between what is good and holy and what should be professed against. Marriage, for example, properly formed, is a very good and holy thing, but marriage as the world is defining, allowing, and even promoting it is not, and it diminishes the holiness of proper marriage. The Church and her priests are supposed to be telling this to the world, but many do not, and it is causing great damage to the flock and to the world at large.

 

Fortunately, there are many priests still willing to preach the truth. We have to continue to pray for them, and for the awakening and conversion of the mistaken ones, so that the Church will teach the difference between the clean and the unclean; the holy and the common. That will be a first step towards righting the craziness of the world. Truth fosters sanity, and we could all use a dose of both right now.
