Hebrews 6:19-20. "We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner shrine behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a fore runner on our behalf, having become high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."
I have written before about the "anchor of the soul" part of this, which I love so much, but what a wonderful reminder this is of what Jesus does for us! He is a forerunner for us, able to enter behind the curtain, like a high priest, and intercede for us. We would have no hope without Him! We are separated from our God and had no way to be reconciled to Him until His Son came and died for us. Now that He has achieved the possibility of our reconciliation, Jesus has ascended into heaven, opening the way for us to follow after Him. He enters the inner shrine behind the curtain, sits at God's right hand, fully in God's presence, and intercedes for us to accept the gift of reconciliation He has gained for us.
Oh how wonderful He is, and how He loves us! We truly could not ask for anything more than what He has done and is doing for us. The prize He won for us is everything! Is it is the only thing that matters!
