2 Kings 17:24-28. After conquering Samaria, the king of Assyria sent away the people and brought in people from other nations to live there. God sent lions among them, so the king ordered a priest from Samaria to go to them and teach them "the law of the god of the land." So one of the priests of Samaria was brought back to teach them how to fear the Lord.

The king of Assyria is both right and wrong. He is right in thinking that the lions were sent because the people did not know the law of the god of the land, but he is wrong in thinking God is just the god of this land. In fact, he and the people living in Samaria, have offended the God of the universe.

They think they are dealing with a small "g" god, when in fact they are dealing with the one God, creator of all. Lucky for them a priest of the one true God is called in to teach them. How they will fare will depend on whether they listen to him or not (spoiler alert: they don't!).
