Psalm 22:1-5. I had this one before - it is the Psalm that Jesus quoted from the Cross. David starts by asking God why He has forsaken him. He cries out all day, but gets no response from God. Then David remembers that God is holy. Our forefathers trusted in him and were not disappointed - they were delivered, they were saved.

At first, I thought this was a tough reading for Thanksgiving - feeling abandoned while trying to be thankful! But then I realized that it is exactly right (no surprise there, thanks Holy Spirit!) Right now many are feeling abandoned - by their families, by their government, by their health care providers - and they are suffering greatly. We do cry out all day long, asking God to fix this mess of a world that we have made. And we wonder why He is taking so long to do so.

But just like David, we then remember how much God loves us, and how He always keeps His promises, and how He has kept His promise. Jesus Christ has come and redeemed the world. We are delivered, the world is saved!

Right now we are just going through the process of delivery - the birth pains at St Paul talked about. We have everything to be thankful for and nothing to complain about! Delivery - the birth pains at St. Paul talked about. We have everything to be thankful for, and we will be so happy when God's plan comes to fruition!
