Psalm 101:3 "I will not set before my eyes anything that is base. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cleave to me."

It is unfortunately part of our fallen human nature to want to look at things we know are bad for us to see. We slow down at car accidents, we watch gory movies, and don't even get me started on the oversexualization of our culture. Porn is ruining so many lives, even quite young ones (I just heard of a 15-year-old boy who is addicted to it and struggling mightily).

Things that are created to titillate or draw us into sin should be acknowledged as the work of those who have fallen away. If we don't want to join them in their fall, we should avoid what they produce at all costs (while, of course, praying for their conversion). We should take David's example and not set before our eyes anything that is base, lest it cleave to us and make us base, as well.
