Psalm 134. "Come bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord who stand by night in the house of the Lord." Lift up your hands and bless the Lord. And may the Lord bless you from Zion, "he who made heaven and earth."

In In Sinu Jesu Jesus talks tells the priest to whom he is speaking that Adoration during the night has a special value. Since I often wake in the night, I have begun putting perpetual Adoration on YouTube at night when I am praying. I often fall asleep with it on. I thought of this when reading about the servants of the house of the Lord who stand by night, lifting up their hands to the holy place. What devotion that is, what love - to stand and worship through the night while others are sleeping!

Even if I had the opportunity to do this, I know I am not there yet. I would sit, I would probably fall asleep. I know this because I do this! I am like Jesus' disciples falling asleep in the garden while he went through his agony. What a great thing it is to stay awake with our Lord, staying with him while others are sleeping!
