Luke 2:15 "When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, 'Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.'"

We all get revelations sometimes. Granted, they are not usually in the form of a choir of angels appearing in the heavens above us telling us tremendous news! But we get smaller, more intimate messages from God, often through our guardian angels. What do we do when we get them? God does not give them to us for no reason, there is something we are being called to do when we get them. I am guilty of occasionally "sitting" on my revelations, pondering them, probing them, but sometimes letting the events of life carry me away from doing anything about them. A bit of pondering might be in order at first, giving myself time to understand what God is asking or telling me, but not to the point of shelving the whole thing and failing to act.

The shepherds acted immediately, going to Bethlehem to see the wonder that was proclaimed to them. Mary went "in haste" to Elizabeth after the Annunciation. Revelations are meant to be acted upon in some way. If we are unsure how, discernment and prayer are in order, but those should lead us to what we are meant to do, not be excuses to put off thinking about what God has revealed to us.
