1 Chronicles 12:35. "Of the Danites twenty-eight thousand six hundred men equipped for battle."

This is part of a passage detailing the number of men each tribe and region of Israel sent to David to "turn the kingdom of Saul over to him" (1 Chronicles 12:20). Each group is described in some way as being ready for battle, but there does not actually end up being a battle. Saul does not put up any more of a fight after all of these men come to David at Hebron, and David is established as king shortly thereafter.

We often don't know the power of just showing up, ready for battle, even if we are hoping to avoid it. In our battle against evil, the devil tries to divide us and keep us looking at our neighbor as our enemy. This is because he knows the power we will have if we gather together behind our true king, ready for battle. He would not stand a chance in that case, and may not even put up much of a fight at that point.
