Psalm 132:1-5. The psalmist asks the Lord to remember in David's favor all the hardships he endured - how he vowed not to enter his home, or to sleep, or to rest until he found "a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob."

Do I put God first the way that David did? I certainly did not always. I must admit there was much of my life where God was taking a back seat to my life, my concerns, my everyday trials, and even my joys. But that was before my slow motion, and then sudden, conversion. Now I see so clearly that putting Him first in all things allows Him to order all things in my life properly. It really is a win-win!

I don't always get it right, sometimes I fall back on myself, but knowing this allows me to rein myself in when I'm doing that and change course. I only wish I had allowed myself this freedom through obedience sooner in my life!
