Sirach 9:8-9. More wisdom of Sirach for his son. Here he says to turn your eyes away from a shapely woman and do not look too intently at beauty belonging to another. Passion is kindled by beauty and many have been misled by it. Never dine with another man's wife nor drink with her, lest "your heart turn aside to her" and you are plunged into destruction.

Although written as advice from a father to a son, both sexes can take this guidance. We should not allow our eyes and our thoughts to linger too long on beauty that belongs to another. We are human, and we have desires and longings, and when we are attracted to someone, those desires can take over if we give them a chance. So it is better not to give them a chance - to remind ourselves that our own spouse is beautiful or, if not married, to remember that attractive people who are married are off limits. Remember that the other person has desires, too, and you can both be led astray by this attraction.

So don't have dinner with another's spouse, nor drink with them, it can lead to problems! In other words, Mike Pence was right!
