1 Chronicles 9:29 "Others of [the Levites] were appointed over the furniture, and over all the holy utensils, also over the fine flour, the wine, the oil, the incense, and the spices."
Being appointed the overseer of the holy utensils, or the fine flour, might seem pretty mundane. I have to admit I am not sure how jazzed I would be if either was my job*. But God is concerned with every detail, so there is nothing too small or mundane to give service to Him.
When we look at the intricacies and beauty of the smallest thing, like an insect's wing, we can see that God doesn't skimp on attention to them. We should not either, especially in the things that serve Him. There are certainly enough of us to care for everything God has created, and He calls each of us to our particular tasks, tasks that He knows fit our individual skills and gifts.
Nothing should feel beneath us or unworthy of our attention. If we are called to even a seemingly menial task, we should look on it as service to the God who oversees all of Creation, even down to the last hair on our head, which He tells us He has numbered. (Matthew 10:30)
