Joshua 6:1-2. The great city of Jericho is shut up tight from within against the Jews, but God tells Joshua "See, I have given into your hand Jericho, with its king and mighty men of valor." This is followed by instructions on how the Israelites are to march around the city for six days and on the seventh day march while blowing trumpets. Then, God says, the walls of Jericho will fall.

If I were Joshua, I would have thought "No, god, I do not really see, but I trust you." And Joshua is right to trust God, the whole thing plays out just as God says it will. But this is a lesson to trust God in the moment, when he says "See, I am doing something", even when what He is telling us to do seems so strange and counterintuitive, we must trust him.

As long as we are sure it is God talking to us, there's no reason to question Him or fear, we should just do what He tells us to do and the whole thing will play out as He intends.
