1 Timothy 4:7 "Have nothing to do with godless and silly myths. Train yourself in godliness".
There are plenty of godless and silly myths, now and always. They are relatively easy to spot when we step back from their rabbit-holes and really think about them, especially if we do so early on, so Paul's advice is very helpful in that regard. God is eternal, His message does not change, He will tell us what we need to know, we don't need to go looking elsewhere.
But He will tell us what He wants us to know, that is important to remember, too. His revelations continue, He has more that He wants to tell us. Today is Divine Mercy Sunday, one of the greatest gifts He has given us. Saint Faustina, to whom this message was revealed, was often thought of as strange or different, especially by her fellow nuns. They, I'm sure, thought she was being led astray by silly myths. This happens to so many of the mystics - their message is at first dismissed, and they often suffer for delivering it. Eventually, though, if a message is from God, it will be accepted as such, and another beautiful part of God's love for us will be revealed.
While we should take Paul's warning to heart, we should also remember that God always has more to tell us. Time and the Church test whether a message is from God, and His messages are always amazingly good, if at first difficult to accept and understand.
