Daniel 3:19-24, Song of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, verse 40 "Bless the Lord, sun and moon, sing praise to him and highly exalt him forever." This is a verse from the song the three Jews, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, sang while in the fiery furnace in which Nebuchadnezzar had sentenced them to death.
It seems strange, at first, to think of the non-living parts of creation, like the sun and moon, rain and dew, ice and cold, blessing the Lord, but they do, just by existing and operating within His Will (without which they would not exist nor operate). Part of the gift of living in the Divine Will as revealed to Luisa Piccarreta is praying "The Rounds"*. There are many rounds to be prayed, but they all involve fusing in the Divine Will and allowing one's soul to go out among the chosen parts of creation, salvation history, or humanity to give God the praise and reparation He is due from all. It is a tremendously beautiful thing to do, and very much like this song of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
As they sang this song, or these rounds, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were preserved entirely from the fire of the furnace. They were so fully removed from their immediate surroundings and present in the Fiat of Creation that they were essentially protected from the effects of evil. Obviously, that will not always be the outcome even when one is in the Divine Will, but being in the Divine Will is the only way this outcome could have been achieved. And even if the Divine Will had ordained that this was Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego's time to die, they would have done so without fear or anxiety, but rather with a song of praise on their lips. That freedom from fear is a true, consistent gift of living in the Divine Will. All we need to do to achieve it is give our Fiat in all things, merging our will with His, and praise and bless Him in all things.
