Psalm 7:9-11. "O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous ... My shield is with God who saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous judge, and a God who has indignation every day."

I have been praying a lot over the last few years for God to let the evil of the wicked come to an end and to establish the righteous. Lately, it seems every day I encounter some story or event that prompts me to plead with Him to protect His people, especially the children, the poor, and those most vulnerable. The young and the weak are being trampled under the feet of the mighty, all while the mighty are so convinced they are doing "good" that you cannot even talk to them about the effects of their policies. It is such a strange time to be alive!

I love the last line here - God has indignation every day! Of course He does! We make him indignant. If I fall into indignation over the few things that I see or hear every day, can you imagine how God, who sees and hears all, must feel? And all of this is a gift from Him - it is all His creation and His beloved children that we are harming with our misguided ways and our sinfulness. How much more reason does He have to be indignant?
