Joshua 19:10-16. A description of the land allotted by God to the tribe of a Zebulun. All of its boundaries are given, but the two boundaries that stretch eastward from their starting points are described as reaching "eastward toward the sunrise." Twelve cities with their villages are included in the land, one of which is Bethlehem.

Even when the reading I get for the day is dry - like a land description - there is always something there! Today I learned that the land allotted to the tribe of Zebulun included Bethlehem, where the Son will eventually come into the world. And I smiled at how God purposely described both of the eastern boundaries of this land as reaching toward the rising sun. The Son will rise in this land, indeed!
