Jeremiah 46:13-17. God tells Jeremiah that he is about to let Nebuchadrezzar, King of Babylon, smite the land of Egypt. Jeremiah is to proclaim to Egypt to standby and be ready, for the sword shall devour all around them. The Lord will thrust down their god Apis and the bull symbolizing him. The multitudes of their occupying armies will arise and flee back to their land because of the sword of the oppressor. Pharaoh is to be called "noisy one who lets the hour go by."

More swords! I do believe swords are coming our way, too, but I do not know what they will look like or how they will devour our enemies. We shall see! In the meantime, it is for us to remain faithful, keep practicing the virtues, and love all people, because our real enemies are not our fellow human beings but the principalities and powers that are occupying this world and influencing our behavior. They are the multitude who are about to see their comrades fall and who will rise up and flee back to their own people because of the sword of our defender.
