Exodus 34:19. "All that opens the womb is mine, all your male cattle, the firstlings of cow and sheep."

Everything is God's! How ridiculous it is of me to think of the things in my life as belonging to me. Anything and everything I have has been given to me by Him, at His pleasure, and in accordance with His will. There are times I must protect and nurture His gifts; times I am meant just to enjoy them; times I may become to attached to them and must distance myself; times I must give them away to others; and times I must sacrifice them for my good, the good of others, or in the praise of God.

My relationship to His gifts should be the same in every circumstance: gratefulness that they have been given to me, if even for a short time, and joy when they are used in the way He wants. They are all His to begin with, and everything that exists has no better purpose than to do His will!
