Isaiah 45:18-19. Isaiah tells us that "thus says the Lord who created the heavens (he is God!)" He formed earth and established it not to be a chaos but to be inhabited. He is the Lord and there is no other, he does not speak in secret or in darkness - he does not tell us to seek him in chaos. He, the Lord, speaks truth and declares what is right.

Truth is beauty, is order, is love, is creation, is God. They are all one and the same, they are all God. He created the world and the universe out of love, so of course it is beautiful and orderly. The only time the second law of thermodynamics has not held true, ever, was at the creation of the universe. At that time, mass (all the mass that will ever exist in the universe, which had suddenly just sprung into being!) went from chaos to order - going from a hot, dense mess to planets orbiting stars in graceful order; to galaxies and the beauty of space. This is God, this is creation, this is love and beauty.

The evil and disorder and chaos and ugliness and meanness that we see in our world are not from God, they are from the evil one. But we do not have to worry about those things, this is why Jesus told us so often "Be not afraid." God did not create the world to be chaos nor to be destroyed. He "formed it to be inhabited" by us, because he loves us.

This is our home, but it is it is his creation. He will not let us destroy it, whether by climate change, or by man-made viruses, or by nuclear war. He will let us create these things, and will permit us to go so far, because we have free will, but in the end he will protect his creation, he knows how to take care of it. Our chaos will not not destroy the earth or all of us.

So be not afraid - God is God and there is no other. He knows what he is doing and he knows how to protect his creation.
