Judith 16:1-7. The beginning of the song of Judith after she was successful in driving away the Assyrians. She calls for music and for all of Israel to join in raising a new psalm to the Lord, the God who crushes wars, for he has delivered her out of the hands of her pursuers. She recounts how the Assyrians came down from the mountains, blocking the valleys and covering the hills. They boasted to the Jews saying that they would kill their young men; dash their infants; take their children as prey; and take their virgins as booty. But the Lord foiled them at the hand of a woman, not by the young men or by soldiers, but by Judith using her beauty and her wiles.

I am tentatively feeling this kind of joy today due to the leaked SCOTUS decision in Dobbs. I'm tentative because what was leaked was a draft and the opinion itself has not yet been issued, so things could change, and all of us in this fight are so very used to having the football pulled away at the last minute, ala Lucy and Charlie Brown!

But there is definitely reason for hope, they're always is! We know what is right we know what is true, we know that abortion is a true, horrible evil. Therefore, we know that our God will, eventually crush this war on the unborn and deliver them from the hands of their pursuers. It is just a matter of God's time and the willingness of people of good will to do his will in the battle.

We will overcome, God always wins, and good always defeats evil. I feel like singing!
