Sirach 12:17-18. If calamity befalls you, an enemy will be there ahead of you. While pretending to help you, he will trip you. He will shake his head and clap his hands, whisper much and change his expression.

Sirach is giving us advice on how to spot an enemy. We must watch people, be alert, and pay attention to their behavior and reactions. Does their expression change in a certain way? Are they saying one thing with their mouth but another thing with their actions? Is there someone who seems to be there with you in your time of trial. but seemed to be there almost ahead of you? That is, who seems to have been anticipating your suffering, even hoping for it a bit? That is an enemy, at least in that instance.

These enemies might be doctors who refused transplants to unvaccinated patients or from unvaccinated donors. They shake their heads ("What a shame, how terrible that you need medical treatment and are unvaxxed and therefore can't receive it!"), while clapping their hands at the same time.

These people may not be our enemies in other matters, but now we know the truth of who they are when the stakes are high, and that is good knowledge to have - it is wisdom. My doctor was not as bad as most, but he did definitely hard sell the vaccine. I will continue going to him for my everyday ailments, but due to his position on the vaccine, I will take his advice on big things with a grain of salt. He allowed himself to be duped and tried to bring his patients with him, and that is not trustworthy.
