Proverbs 4:20, 22 "My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings ... For they are life to him who finds them, and healing to all his flesh."
We often ask God to incline His ear to us, especially in times of need, but here Solomon is asking us to incline our ear to his words. Solomon had been granted wisdom as a gift from God, so his proverbs are Godly words. He acknowledges this when he says "they are life to him who finds them, and healing to all his flesh." The words of Proverbs, then, are the word of God, Solomon is just channeling them to us.
All of the Bible is like this, it is all God's word to us, a living word that has application and meaning in every situation we encounter. We should read the Bible often, every day if possible, and open our minds and hearts to what God is saying to us in those words in that moment (exactly how this journal got started!). God of course wants us to ask Him to incline His ear to us when we are in need, but often we can get His answer (sometimes even before we ask) by inclining our ear to His words in Scripture. They are life to those who find them.
