Psalm 50:1 "The Mighty One, God the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting."

God is not just outside the universe watching what happens, hoping we will do the right thing. He did not create everything and then just leave it to its own devices. He created with meaning and purpose. Creation is an ongoing process that is leading to something - the fulfillment of His will. He is constantly and intimately involved in every moment of everything. He is summoning all of Creation to unity in Himself from the rising of the sun to its setting.
