Hosea 4:6-10. God's people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. They have rejected knowledge so he will reject them and forget their children. Because the more they increase the more they sin, he will change their Glory into shame. They are actually greedy for iniquity, so they will get what they want. The more they eat, the less they will feel satisfied and the more they "play the harlot," the less they will multiply.

Eventually we get what we've been choosing. We are so used to God, our loving Father, always being in the background and providing for us no matter what while we keep pursuing our sinful ways. But there comes a point when he lets us have only what we've been greedy for. And then the emptiness sets in.

We cannot fill that hole in our hearts with anything but him. When he's not there, we hurt or even kill ourselves trying to fill it with other things like sex, alcohol, power, food, politics - any of the myriad idols we choose. And when we choose them and run after them with all of our hearts, we kill our future as well, either literally, as with contraception and abortion, or figuratively, as in the transgender fad and the lockdowns that have so hamred our youth.
