Daniel 3:13-15. King Nebuchadnezzar is furious when he hears that faithful Jews Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego do not worship the idol that he has ordered all in Babylon to worship. He calls them before him and tells him they have a choice, either worship the idol as everyone else does when the music sounds across the kingdom or he will throw them into a fiery furnace "and who is the god that will deliver you out of my hands?"
That last question gives away the game! There is only one God, and that is the God that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are serving, so Nebuchadnezzar's idol and fiery furnace do not not stand a chance. This is the same as it ever was, we are today being coerced to worship many idols, one of which is a new gene therapy that they have changed the definition of "vaccine" to include in order to make it more palatable. We are told, even by many of our religious leaders, that we must feel the same fear that they feel and this gene therapy is the only thing that will prevent us from spreading a man-made disease that has a 98% survival rate. They are telling us to get an unproven, but increasingly apparently unsafe and uneffective, "vaccine" made from new technology never tested on humans before, and that seems to be having terrible real world consequences. If we don't get that "vaccine," we will be punished terribly, by losing our jobs, by being refused medial treatment, and in some cases by being put in prison camps.
Those of us who see the "vaccine" for what it is and do not fear the virus as much as we are being told we must are being told, with increasing fury, that we are terrible people who do not care about our fellow man. This was hurtful at first, but I now see the hand of God in it all. It is a test of faith, just as the furnace was for these three men. The furnace was absolutely real and dangerous, just as the virus is, but the promised "way out," of the furnace and of the virus, is nothing but a false god, a man-made thing that is oversold as promised salvation and that cannot save us. The "vaccine" is a therapeutic at best, and God has made it clear to me in no uncertain terms that I, at least, am not to receive it. Once I realized what he was telling me, any fear of the virus, and any hurt caused by the people who are trying to bully me into getting it, went away immediately.
We definitely have idol making hearts, idols are all around us. Those who worship idols want to make everyone else do so, too, just like Nebuchadnezzar, because otherwise their folly will come to light. Also like the king, their fury increases to dangerous levels the more we resist them (that is how you know it is a false god, refusal to get a normal "vaccine" would not elicit this level of inhumane treatlment). We must always trust God, think for ourselves in cooperation with Him, and let him lead us. He will if we ask, and He will show us the idols of our day.
