Psalm 125:1-3. Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever. God surrounds his people the way the mountains surround Jerusalem. He will protect them forever and "the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land of the righteous, lest the righteous put forth their hand to do wrong."

I am trying to think this passage through in light of the Marion messages that foretell that the Antichrist will sit on the throne of Peter. I know that Mary would not lie to us, but we have to remember that her messages are given so that we take action to avoid the things that she is saying may happen. So, while there is a great possibility that the things she foretells will happen, God is giving us every opportunity to avert them. And in fact, it is possible we are averting them (there is a lot of sacrificial suffering going on right now!)

I think the way I rectify these two things is by remembering that God does surround his Church just as the mountains surround Jerusalem and we know that he always will protect it. But, we have to remember, that the Church is the people of God and there will always be the faithful, even if Rome becomes under the sway of evil. In that case, the psalm promises the protection for the remnant, those who remain faithful.

Again, anything can happen, since we all have free will and it is very clear that the devil is very active right now and leading people astray, but either way God's promise that he will always be protecting his people will remain true.
