Psalm 50:12-15. God says "If I were hungry, I would not tell you." All that is in the world is His and He does not eat of the flesh of bulls. So, He says, offer Him instead a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on Him in our times of trouble. He will deliver us.

I love the first line of this! God can be a bit sassy sometimes! "If I were hungry I would not tell you." Haha, yes! Why would He? What can we possibly give Him? God is complete. He is not hungry, and if He were, we couldn't feed Him. God does not need anything from us and we do not have anything He did not give us.

But God does want something from us, our love. We show our love of Him not by offering rote sacrifices, but by truly thanking Him and appreciating His gifts. When we do this, we come to right sacrifice anyway. When we truly appreciate that everything we have has been given to us by our loving Creator, we want to give back to Him, and we do that by giving Him ourselves to do His will.
