Ezekiel 3:4 "And he said to me, 'Son of man, go, get you to the house of Israel, and speak with my words to them.'"

Sometimes I wish God would be this direct with me, just tell me where and when to "go", and I would do it. Ezekiel certainly has no doubt about what he is supposed to do. Perhaps later he will need to discern whether the words he feels inspired to speak are God's words or his own (something I struggle with often), but at this moment his path is very certain. If he wants to do God's will, God has just told him what it is.

I wake up every morning and say my Prevenient Act, fusing my will into the Divine Will, I give Him my Fiat, and I ask Him to guide my every thought word and action, but I rarely am certain that I remain there (and sometimes I'm certain that I have not). I question myself and my motivations in so many things. Perhaps there is a lesson I need to learn that Ezekiel did not. Perhaps I have to really understand that God's in charge, not me, and if I have given Him my Fiat and my will, He is in my every thought word and action as long as it is not sinful (those are the times I'm certain I'm not in His will).

I think the point of the Divine Will is that God will no longer have to give us as explicit instructions as he did Ezekiel. He won't have to say "Go", we will be past that. When we are in His Will, we are so fused with Him that He is acting in and through us without us having to really think about it. This is essentially the message of the Surrender Novena as well. We just have to completely give ourselves to Him and He will take care of everything. Not just the major things, like sending us out to spread His Word, but every single aspect of our lives will be done in accordance with His Will.
