Psalm 86:5. "For thou, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on thee."

This is the most basic thing we need to remember. In fact, if we know this, truly know it in our hearts, we do not need to know much else! God is all good and full of mercy. He loves us so much and wants each of us with Him in eternity. If we call to Him, He will respond with all His love and He will save us. Everything else builds on this - God is love!
