Wisdom 16:4. "For it was necessary that upon those oppressors inexurable want should come, while to these it was merely shown how their enemies were being tormented."

Solomon is talking about how the Egyptians were punished when God freed the Israelites, and how the Israelites, "after suffering want a short time," were given delicacies and comfort. I know that our oppressors, the principalities and powers we are struggling against, will fall into Inexorable want. God always comes to the rescue of His people. I know that we are, right now, suffering want for a short time, and that it may get worse before it gets better. But even in the midst of our suffering, God is there, taking care of us. He gave the Israelites quail and manna from heaven in the desert.

The Israelites wandered for forty years, which does not seem like a short time to us, but is nothing in God's eyes. So I don't know how long our "short time" of want will last, but I do know He will care for us while we are in it, and what awaits us at the end is going to be amazing!
