Hosea 6:11-7:1 "For you also, O Judah, a harvest is appointed. When I would restore the fortunes of my people, when I would heal Israel, the corruption of Ephraim is revealed, and the wicked deeds of Samaria; for they deal falsely, the thief breaks in, and the bandits raid without."
I hear so many people, online and elsewhere, bemoaning the fact that the corruption and wicked ways that affected the world so severely have not been brought to light. (See, for example, this xweet from Coddled Affluent Professor, and this response from Elizabeth Bennett).
Covid is just one example, although admittedly the most egregious and widespread one, at least that we know of, God only knows what's going on behind the scenes! But that is exactly the point. God does know. He knows it all, He knows much more than we do, and we have to be humble enough to let Him work while not giving up hope and trust. Certain things, like the Allison Inquiry in Canada, and the most recent appearance of Anthony Fauci before a US Senate panel, are beginning to shed light on things. Corruption and evil deeds never stay buried forever. In the light of God's truth all will be revealed eventually.
There is a harvest appointed for God's children. We know that, He has promised it, and He always keeps His promises. While we are waiting for the corruption and wicked deeds that have hurt so many to be revealed, we can take comfort in remembering that. And just trust. God's time is not our time, His ways are not our ways. His are much, much better, and His harvest will be as well.
