2 Maccabees 1:17 "Blessed in every way be our God, who has brought judgment upon those who have behaved impiously." (This proclamation of praise follows a description of the slaughter of Antiochus and his men by the priests of Nanea discussed in Beware the Secret Doors.)

There is so much wickedness in the world right now, so much evil and injustice that do not seem to be being addressed by God. People, myself included, sometimes can grow impatient awaiting God's justice. But as we know, only God knows the hearts and minds of all, only He knows the right time for justice and the ones upon whom it should be visited (and as Beware of Secret Doors warns, sometimes it has to be visited on us; we are all sinners!).

Rather than awaiting God's judgment on those we perceive to be our enemies, we should actually be praying for His mercy on all, even those who seem wicked. Think how much happier God will be, and how much better the world will be, if they repent and change their ways!

When God knows the time is right, then He will pass judgment and bring justice. It will be just the right time to show His mercy and His power. Then we can bless Him for delivering us from evil, rather than fretting about it ahead of time.
