Joshua 1:7. "Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you; turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go."

Three days ago my daily reading was Joshua 1:8, in which God tells Joshua to meditate on the book of the law day and night and to be careful to act according to it, this will make his way prosperous. I didn't publish that entry, and just today I was looking at it and wondering if I should go back and post it. I decided not to, it was a short post and not terribly meaningful, but then I got this verse today, the one immediately preceding that one! So, obviously, I went back and posted the 8/13 entry (God corrects me so quickly!:)

Joshua is preparing to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land when God says this to him. God is reminding Joshua to stick to God's law, it will see him and the Israelites through anything and make them prosperous. I wonder if I am getting these readings because we also are being prepared to go somewhere "new"? I think the world is changing so drastically that it will definitely become something new soon, but whether we are being prepared for that now or not, this reminder to always meditate on God's law and not stray from it is a good one and will see us through all of our struggles in this world in flux!
