Isaiah 5:13-17. God's people go into exile for want of knowledge. Their honored men are starving and the multitude is parched with thirst. Sheol has enlarged its appetite and mouth and the nobility and multitude of Jerusalem go down. Man is bowed down, men are brought low, and the eyes of the haughty are humbled, but God's justice is exalted. He is showing himself righteous; the lambs shall graze in the ruins of Jerusalem.

We are in exile for want of knowledge right now. We have not been told nor taught the truth, instead we have been given a wishy-washy, "love=tolerance of any and everything and tolerance=celebration" philosophy that is leading us and those whose sinful actions we tolerate and celebrate down the wrong path. Hell has indeed enlarged its appetite - people I am sure it never thought it had a chance at are now on the brink.

We are in such dangerous waters, and we all feel it. It is why there is so much dysfunction, hatred, and anger in the world right now - we are clinging to comforting but very dangerous lies, and defending them at the cost of true joy and happiness. So we are bowed down, brought low. Things are falling apart - both within us and within our world - the center cannot hold because it is filled with lies. We have not centered ourselves around truth, but have allowed ourselves, due to a want of knowledge (i.e., truth) to go very far astray. It is way past the time of assigning blame for this state of affairs, it is time to start seeking for the truth ourselves. God does not hide it from us, we only have to seek it out and accept it, even if it hurts.
