Jeremiah 26:4-6. God is sending Jeremiah out to again warn the people to turn from their evil ways. He says to them "If you will not listen to me to walk in my law ... and to heed the words of my servants the prophets whom I send you urgently ... then I will make this a city a curse for all the nations of the earth."
When I first started feeling that I was being called to do more for God, it started in a small way (and was rather confusing, to be honest), but it grew so quickly and became a truly urgent feeling that I needed to evangelize. I remember saying that to my mother - that I felt a sense of urgency, that I didn't (more like couldn't) care what people thought, I had to do it! That was many years ago. Now, as we stand in the rubble of the world left by the COVID panic and continue to have destruction rain down on us in the form of wars, inflation, food shortages come etc., etc., I truly believe we are in the beginning stages of the end of an era. I think that is why God put that urgency in my heart before all this began.
I have been reading about the Marian apparitions starting with Fatima and the outright urgency with which she is pleading with us just blows me away. Why didn't I know about this before?! I blame myself, I wasn't listening, just like so many others, and just like the Jews of Jeremiah's time, but it is clear that God is sending Mary to us as the ultimate prophet for our times. She is our John the Baptist, heralding the coming of her Son as the just judge, and she is begging us, as our mother, to be ready and to help others be ready.
Great struggles are coming because we did not listen and walk in his law when he first sent Mary to us. Now she is appearing almost every day at Medjugorje, repeating the urgency, but confirming his love for his faithful. If God was upset about the Jews ignoring Jeremiah and his other prophets, just think how much more upset he's going to be at us if we continue to ignore Jesus' and our mother!
