Jeremiah 12:14-17. "Thus says the Lord concerning all my evil neighbors who touch the heritage which I have given my people Israel to inherit: 'Behold, I will pluck them up from their land, and I will pluck up the house of Judah from among them. And after I have plucked them up, I will again have compassion on them, and I will bring them again each to his heritage and each to his land. And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, 'As the Lord lives,' even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they shall be built up in the midst of my people. But if any nation will not listen, then I will utterly pluck it up and destroy it, says the Lord.'"

The Bible, even the Old Testament, is full of reminders that God wants the whole world to come to Him, not just His chosen people. Jeremiah is prophesying that Judah will be punished, but so will all of the surrounding nations who have contributed to Judah's corruption. God promises, though, that He will have compassion on all the lands He is punishing - He will bring them again "each to his heritage and each to his land", and they will have the opportunity to "diligently learn the ways of [His] people" and come to swear by the Lord, just as they led His people to swear by their gods. Note that they do not have to forsake their heritage, they do not have to become Jews, they just must accept the Jewish God. Once all have seen and learned the power of God, they should all realize the powerlessness of their gods, and turn to the one true God - Israel's God. If they do so, they will have peace, but if they do not, they will be destroyed.

God loves all of His creation and wants to restore it all to Him. The Jews were chosen to be the people through which God showed His power, love, and glory to the world, but God was never limiting Himself to just saving the Jews. God wants to save everybody, all His works, signs, and creation are meant to call all of humanity to Him. He lets us suffer when we refuse that call, but He does not hold a grudge. When we turn to Him, He will turn to us. This is true for individuals, nations, and other religions. It is time for all of us to turn fully to Israel's God, incarnate in Jesus Christ, then we will once again have peace.
