Hosea 2:18. "And I will make for you a covenant on that day with the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the creeping things of the ground; and I will abolish the bow, the sword, and war from the land; and I will make you lie down in safety."
On a day to come, God promises to allure his bride, Israel, into the wilderness, speaking tenderly to her and giving her vineyards and abundance;.and she shall again call him "my Husband." At that time, He will make this new covenant with her, and all of nature will be in harmony with her.
This is what is coming, eventually (soon, I think, see yesterday's post!). This is living in the Divine Will - getting back to the harmony of nature that existed in the Garden of Eden. This is what the labor pains the world is suffering are leading to.
In the Lord's Prayer, we ask "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." This period of God's Will being done on earth is the period of the Divine Will. Jesus wouldn't have taught us to ask for it if He didn't mean for us to receive it. It will be a new covenant, it will be wonderful; but before we get there, all people of the earth must get to the point where we are willing to accept it.
Right now, God is preparing us by having us suffer through many trials, and more to come. If we stay firm in our faith and full of hope, we will help the world get there; we will help Him allure the world out into the wilderness where we will all recognize our Husband and want to live in His Will.
